Unless you are competing for some contest you should have a cheat day. If you arer just trying to build muscle and lose fat cheat days are ok,because if one doesnt take a cheat day they are inclined to binge more often and do worse than a scheduled cheat day! So dont beat yourself up over going out to eat with friends and family. I will say i allow my clients to cheat but i also tell them to cheat wisely,if your goal is to lose weight dont cheat by having donuts and soft drinks, its very counter productive. Alot of people do not like to stop at 1 or 2 cheat days they want MORE,this is not good. Just keep in mind the more lean tissue you have the more cheats you will be able to get away with though!

I generally cheat on the weekends. Never a lot of simple carbs, and I try to cheat wisely.
    Pizza is my favorite.

yeah i WAS giving myself every saturday the whole day to cheat.. but after taking advantage of it and eating anything in sight i feel that it is just too much. I cut it down to one meal once a week. And generally its friday night or saturday night when I go out. This doesn't include drinking though, just food. lol. Drinking is a whole different story. Every once in a blue mood i'll get a little "shitty" with the boys but i try to limit myself. Usually i'll have my cheat day when i take a girl out to eat or something.. make her think I'm one of the few who can eat whatever they want and have a great physic hahaha, little does she know right? ;]

on maintenance, I prefer small cheats here and there as they come, as opposed to one big cheat day....a couple pieces of hard candy after dinner one night, some Lucky Charms with breakfast a few days later, some garlic bread a week later, etc.

if i ever have a ''cheat day" it's usually a carb-up day, where I just overeat good carbs.....

while cutting, I try not to dabble in junk food at all, and just stick to a day every week or so where my portion sizes are slightly larger....

Why is pizza so bad for you?! it has some starch, some nutrients in it, and some great tasting stuff! on the topic, my doctors tell me to keep eating fruit as it is great for me and a big part of my cultures. On here every1 says to stop eating fruit. What do i do?! i need a direct answer. What else is good/bad for you?! and i know the obvious things like donuts and cake are bad for you but what can be on the fence and why?!

I think you will find most Dr's, especially General Practitioners have little to zero knowledge on performance nutrition.

+1 you will also find that the majority of Certified Nutritionist would have no clue on how to get you shredded for a bodybuilding show ! There goal is to keep you normal and average to what text book standards are. But we all want to be freaky!! There are lots of people that also think Gatorade is a health drink and should be used excessively, and this is wrong. You need to read and research!! I work with 12 Orthopaedic and sports medicine surgeons and you wouldnt beleive how many times ive been asked for diet advice!!

i do a cheat meal instead of a whole day because i feel like crap if i eat nothin but pizza and wings and crap all day. my preferred cheat meal is charly's grilled subs man that stuff is good.

fruit and stuff like that is goal dependent, imo, if you want to be less than 10-12% then yea you shouldnt be taking in the sugars and stuff from fruit but if your aim is 12-15% then yea go ahead its not gonna harm you like burger king or something would

    Are you for real?

PIZZA? You mean the one with the refined white flour? Which is devoid of almost ALL nutrients. You know the milling and processing of grains removes up to 99% of nutrients right?

Then on top of a refined grain with no nutrients that is going to skyrocket blood sugar with no chromium, vanadium or b vitamins to bring it into the cell for proper utilization...you have a wack load of CHEESE.

Cheese...well you can just picture that as glue in your intestines. You ever make lasagna and leave the plate without washing it? That cheese sticks on for dear life and you have to literally scrub it off...thats what is happening in your intestines.

Oh ya the cheese is processed and not organic either.

Than you put on SMOKED pork full of nitrites and nitrates which require molybdenum to be cleared from phase II liver pathways...but wait there is no molybdenum in pizza because all of the nutrients are gone.

Ya pizza is great for you its got all the food groups LMFAOOOO.

Its not your fault though, you have all been fooled...no one teaches you this when your growing up and no ones cares because its $$$.

You think your doctor knows about nutrition? Guess again.

pizza dough, specifically (b/c of the way it's prepared, similar to any baked good), causes a really long GI response/ has a very high GL.....say a bowl of white rice causes a spike of about 2 hours, whereas pizza dough averages in the 4-5 hour range...combine that with milkfat, and you have the ultimate recipe for gaining fat

it's my personal opinion, that the proliferation of pizza in the last 20 years (in terms of it's availability on street corners to freezers, as well as very low price), to be the #1 food culprit in the US's obesity problem
