Well, even though Sicily is a big land, it is still too small to have ethnic differences within its geographical borders.
As you may know, Sicily was dominated by Arabs and before by Phoenicians, Caraginians, Saracens and also by Normans.
This is the reason why a real sicilian can be either dark or blonde.
