Exclamation Me in the combat zone (Iraq)

Talk about a crash diet / crash cutting down.......lol this pic was taken after a few months of combat, we rolled into the country april 2003 so the war was very new. after a few months we got some weights and i could lift again but the food was awful and it was freakin hot, im not sure how much weight i lost but it was pretty severe.

the cheesy mattress you see is basically the only thing we could buy on the economy and it was better then sleeping in a army cot, although you had to stack 3-5 of them together to make a difference because they were only foam.

the Bob Hope DFAC on B.I.A.P had kick a$$ food and i got to eat there on the regular but sadly our F.O.B had a horrible DFAC and it was known all around for bad food....hahaha we had a great aid station and we got a lot of wounded in but nobody wanted to eat at the 47thFSB F.O.B......

for the first month we ate M.R.E and then the cooks began to serve one sometimes 2 meals a day and the first was always breakfast. it was d-ration eggs you needed salsa to be able to eat. it was overall medeocre bland food that you could not eat a lot of and most of the time chow was at the bottom of the list of things that needed to be done in order to complete the mission for the day.
