I'm sure you did loose weight on that diet. I don't see how you couldn't. But it will damn near impossible for you to retain muscle on 2k cals/day as well. Your food choices aren't bad, you're just not eating enough.
bro, I've seen it before with myself and others, people who are trying to loose fat end up cutting cals way too much too fast, and so sacrifice muscle in the process.
