    oh wow really. well my macros are all in check. i use protein shake same as most people, just to get in that extra protein. the reason i may not have a carb/fat meal with it is because like gbrice75, i have it at night before hitting the sack and really dont wanna put ne carbs in the mix or ne other time wen i dont really want carbs.

    so are u guys saying that that carb/oil addition is required for absorption? how come it says nothing of this sort on the label of most protein powders? and if this is the case, does that apply to protein from whole foods also? surely u can eat a steak all on its own and expect the protein to be absorbed....

    You should be having some form of fat with it before bed, to fit your macros and to slow absorption throughout the night. ESPECIALLY if you are using whey, which a lot of trainers say is one of the biggest wastes of money in bbing, except pre/post workout. I would get yourself some egg or casein protein. Hit that up with some fishoils (15 tabs is plenty) and/or 1/2 tblspoons of olive oil. Also, if you're trying to move away from using powders but like the convenience aspect, just drink some raw eggs. Throw them in the shaker and pound it down, too easy.
