    Moving on...

By the way, how are you gonna read and understand text that's written in an ancient dialect of an ancient language?

Has the text been translated to modern-day English, and if so, by who? Do you trust the competence of the translator?

I'm very critical of translations because I do some translation work myself, and I'm often left with the job of "correcting" dodgy translations made by others. By "correcting" I mean rip up what they wrote and start from scratch.

Also, different languages are spoken by different cultures. Different cultures say different things, and it isn't always possible to directly translate from one language to another. The situation gets worse and worse if the text has been translated more than once (e.g. from Thai to Portuguese to Chinese).

If you have a Thai friend who speaks really good English, ask him to translate the meaning of "geng jai" into English. I bet you he'll scratch his head and have to sit down and think about it for a long time. Even if he's extremely proficient in both languages, he might have a lot of trouble translating some terms.
What type of documents, writings, scripts, texts, books would you like to burn exactly?

Perhaps the ones, which I already read, that show how the Darwin's theory is fallacious and created to indoctrinate.
Perhaps you want to burn the phots of several human skeletons with the same size and proportions of ours but with an age of 3 millions years old...
Or maybe, you want to burn their texts dating evidences?

    Agree with D7M.

The Catholic church is preaching that Darwinism is a fallacy ... no way.

BJJ ... I'll stop there ... cause we're boys and this will lead to nothing.

Have fun bro ... I know you'll find some interesting material, which I honestly wouldn't mind reading.

You and who else, since I am a man.

For your information, especially after the Second Vatican Council, the Catholic theology, negotiating with the theory of evolution, has made considerable progress and established some fundamental questions of faith on the origin of man, to the action of God in the world and to the doctrine on the original sin.

You obviously don't understand what I meant by "we're boys".

I'll just leave it at that then since I'm not going to get into a pissing match over the Vatican.

Good call, because it does not seem to me you know much about it, Darwin's romance included.

I don't know why people are making comments stating that this discussion has anything to do with religion. I haven't heard a single comment regarding religion yet.

I'm criticising the Catholic Church in their capacity as a business organisation, not as a religion.

I don't care if a business organisation is religion-orientated or not, they can't get away with sexually assualt.

Since people are finding it difficult to separate religion from this discussion, so let's pretend we're talking about Honda instead of the Catholic Church.

Honda's a big company with factories around the world. Now, hypothetically speaking, let's say that loads and loads of Honda mechanics start raping children all over the world.

What should Honda do? Honda should fire the mechanics! Not only that, it should probably start screening new mechanics since so many of them turned out to be child rapists.

Now, let's say, instead of firing the mechanics, Honda just moves them to a new factory in a different part of the world! Honda moves the mechanics to somewhere where nobody knows them, and not a word more is said about. This works out for Honda most of the time but then they have the mechanics that will rape more kids in their new factory.

So let's say this goes on for decades, Honda mechanics are raping kids left right and centre, and they get shuffled around from factory to factory to cover things up.

What would your opinion of Honda be? They're a pack of scumbags and they should be murdered in cold blood.

Now, BJJ, you come along with a thread saying that you have special access to a library owned by Honda. Now since Honda is so hated, since Honda is such a pile of scum, wouldn't you expect people to react negatively? Wouldn't you expect people to instruct you to burn the place to the ground?

But of course Honda is a wonderful automobile manufacturer and they'd never let this happen.

It's the Catholic Church that rapes kids, it's the Catholic Church that protects the rapists and covers up the rapes. It's the Catholic Church that offers no assitance to the rape victims, it's the Catholic Church that offers nothing but denial to the victims.

One more thing: What you said about the 3 million year old skeletons. Are you saying that the Catholic Church is withholding information which could advance our research in the origins of man? Sounds like a really scumbag thing to do. What else are they withholding that could help humanity?

There are so many other bad examples you could come up with...
Just to name two of them, pharmaceutical companies experimenting new drugs on poor kids taken away from their family either in Africa and Brazil or, always towards the needy, babies who are implanted with microchip as soon as they are born to learn how to control their mind inducting special electric signals... (religions are losing power so this will be the next step to rule the humanity).

The world is full of those happenings but still there are many things which should be saved, and knowledge, especialy when hidden to the majority, is one of them.

it's nowhere close to that, it's just the best current theory

btw, a theory is a proposed explanation whose status is still conjectural, in contrast to well-established propositions that are regarded as reporting matters of actual fact.

so saying evolution is a proven theory is an oxymoron
