actually it was bush that first put the speaker of the house in military travel. after 9/11 he was worried about security with speaker being 3rd in line.

Pelosi is the first to abuse this and claim it as a right, refusing to ever fly commercial...and demanding a larger plane cause a gulfstream is to small and needs to make a quick re-fueling stop along the way.

this should not be a right, but rather a consideration in times of hightened security risk. It is however now claimed as a right to live it up rather then fly like an average joe. She isn't worried about security, she's worried about the comfort of her ass.

And plenty of the right (or libertarian) were unhappy with Bush and his budgets...not that Obama's deficit even compares.

I was simply stating presidential travel is expensive. I said, I don't see how we can do anything about that meaning we have to...he's the president, we can't have him arrive in a taxi or keep him in washington all the time.

Yeah I hear ya. I worked Air Force One security all around the world. I'll tell you what... whatever number they come up with for cost of travel, just double it and add a few million.

As far as Ms. Nancy.... I don't mind paying for travel, but alcohol and some other dude's wife to travel... f*ck off.
