Yours is a case in point mate - by cropping the face out it makes it look as though it is a pic of you and you are trying to hide your identity - other members may then decide to follow advice you give under the misapprehension that it is you in you avatar.
This is actually much more interesting now that I'm gonna chime in.

With lovbyts specifically, I have asked myself at least a dozen times on random nights "is that really what lovbyts looks like" (cause the head is cropped). And then I say "no way it looks more like a modeling pic.. prob just some guy he wants to look like".
So I DO have that logic, to understand why people do. I'm not sure why lovbyts cropped the face, but I think he just did it out of respect for the actual person he got the pic from.
Maybe that person doesn't want their face plastered all over a steroid forum by some random member.

So either way, Notsmalls perspective or Lovbyts, I can understand both.

I *USE* to post pictures of other guys as my avy back in the day too, more as motivation, but I found out it was actually never motivating. Cause if I was looking at the picture it meant I was on my computer, and if I was on my computer, I was def NOT at the gym.
I couldn't possibly ever see myself loggin in, seeing my avatar, then thinking "fvck this I'm going to lift", just to be real here. I mean if I'm loggin in I'm doing some serious whoring most likely, so I stopped that whole posting trend of posting other men... and even women for that matter.

I like more artistic avies now that make you think or have a witty way of saying something. But a picture of some random hot female model or a guy someone wants to look like is just really boring imo. Everyone wants to look like Brad Pitt from fight club (+40lbs) and Angelina Jolie, so might as well drop it and try getting some more original avies.

But thats just my opinion lol.

What I do know is some people really just need to change theirs, notsmall, dsm, and other members whos avatars originate from the stoneage for example. But then again if dsm or notsmall ever changed their avies how the fvck would I ever identify them? ... oh wait... we have handles too haha.

Hmmm...there's a search function for that LOL...

My avatar is me...it's the only fairly recent close-up of my face. I don't usually assume that someone's avatar is a picture of them (I don't even consider whether it is or not really). However, if people are basing their judgement of someone's knowledge solely on an avatar picture...they're probably idiots.

I thought your avatar was you (nice smile). You know though, for the members to fully appreciate your hard work and dedication to a fitness lifestyle, an avatar showing more of your physique would work to your advantage.

And all of us guys taking test would appreciate it too!
