    I guess it depends on where you shop. At my local grocery store a carton of egg whites(500g) costs about 2.48$ and a dozen large eggs cost 3.29$. Besides even if the carton were slightly more expensive...I don't really enjoy peeling 10 eggs per day. Each egg white is 31.5g. So each egg white from the carton costs me about 0.16$and a whole egg from the carton costs me about 0.27$. Big difference when you eat 250g-500g of egg whites per day, but my calculations could be wrong.

    Here in the uk a 1 kg carton of whites is about £3 or $6.

    From costco i can get 60 whole eggs for £4 or $8 so to me there is a big difference
