Don't be a jerk and get on the bad side of someone who delivers your mail lol. I've had overly friendly staff strike up conversations about the strange origins and/or destinations of things before. I just cheerfully tell them how my work has an international exchange program for new college grads and as a result I have friends from all over the world. Then I turn it into a conversation about the places I'd love to visit.
