I have seen studies showing anavar can improve liver function in patients with alcohol induced cirrhosis. However, these are much lower doses then what we use. Anavar will have adverse effects on hepatic function in higher doses. Anavar can also improve fatty liver by inhibiting fat deposition and accelerating its mobilization.
