Thread: missing out legs ??

    Arrow missing out legs ??

a question for a mate who is on gear. he is hitting the gym 4-5 times per week but misses out legs more often than doing them. he was wondering if deadlifts cover legs enough ? hes not fussed on building muscle on his legs but i know you get better gains when including legs. is deadlifts good enought to do so you can miss out training legs (as he hates training them with a passion)? like i said hes more looking for an muscley upper body.
    cheers

    Simply no it wouldn't

Being symmetrical is a much better option overall.

Nothing builds muscle throughout the entire body like a heavy Back Squat. Deads will hit the legs (ham/glutes), but it's no substitute for a heavy Squat.

let him not train legs. so then his upper body will get bigger and his legs will look like chicken legs. (if there not already)

and once everyone laughs at him. he will change his mind

Training his legs will help his upper body as well.

I'm not doubting you because I think it's true...but is this actually a fact? Or do people just assume there is a correlation? Can someone explain? I am curious

i see a lot of guys on gear at the gym that never touch legs.. Honestly if you arent competing and wearing long shorts all the time you cant tell anyway. I hate legs but still do them but no one ever sees my legs.

An intense leg workout will can trigger your pituitary gland to release more growth hormone. I read that in an HGH sticky somewhere on here

this is true, but if you're on juice I guess it doesn't really matter.

But let him not train legs, nothing is funnier than a big dude with chicken legs lol

I'm only going to train the left side of my body and try to get as lopsided as possible.

Training legs is good for overall development as well as makeing a strong core(abs/ spinal erectors)

IMHO, training legs is essential if someone is going to use AAS in order to avoid injury. Developing overwhelming strength up top is great, but if you don't have the foundation to support it something in the middle, for me it was in the lower back/hips, will give. I had an injury doing heavy t bar rows a few years ago that I directly attributed to my lack of leg training. I had gotten in the same rut and was skipping legs as often as doing them, and it cost me. Heavy squats will help your overall strength both in your legs and around your core. I moved legs up to day 2 in my training split to help avoid getting late in the week and coming up with excuses not to do legs.

    squat

the hardest part of anything worth while is getting started i always liked picking a weight that was not to taxing and doing sets 1 min. apart doing the same amount of reps until u cant so if you were doing 8 reps and did 5 reps then you stop a good article is charles staleys DENSITY TRAINING if you ignore your legs then eventually your upper body will hit an unbreakable plateau

From MY experience: I only do deadlifts to work my legs and they are by far my strongest point as far as size and definition go, I dont want overly large legs (as they are too big already) so I only train them with deads yet for somereason they continue to grow faster, bigger and stronger than any other muscle group. Just my experience
