    chest workouts

    hey guys iv been training close on a year and a half now and my chest is seriously lacking compared to my shoulders and back. any info on how to get it up to par ? thanks

    what does your overall workout consist of and what is your diet, and post some pics for some more detailed and expert advice. Please post stats as well and overall personal goals.

    If you want a good chest you need to bench press heavy. So you have to shock it with heavy weights. You can do a pyramid set workout going heavier and heavier with lower reps and then do some dumbbell flyes to finish off. Your chest will be really sore the next few days after it and it has to grow. Throw in some partial reps with a much heavier weight than usual a few days later or if you have enough energy after your normal benches and it will give your muscles and bones used to the extra weight. Remember, muscles don't grow unless they have to. So make them. You can go back to a normal routine of 8 reps or so after but I'd recommend getting some base down first and getting used to a heavier weight.

    A large chest also has a lot to do with breathing correctly and when doing the press. The old guys swore by expansive breathing when you to open up the rib cage.
