Because I am in the military and I know the standards very well, and how they have nothing to do with being "in shape". I'm a champion powerlifter and now a competitive bodybuilder and I have never maxed my PT test. I know several soldiers who are overweight or out of shape that can score as good as me or better on a PT test though. That's like saying that because Jay Cutler is Mr.Olympia he should be able to win the tour de france, and Lance Armstrong should also be able to win the Olympia, just because they are both "good athletes" in their sports. Not being good at a particular type of training or event has nothing to do with being in shape or not. Talk to a military man though, and they will tell you that they are top notch athletes because they can do X amount of pushups, situps, and run 2 miles within a certain time. I get tired of hearing that same thing all the time.

I am in the military as well and can blatantly see the differences between bodybuilding and military standard pt. The difference is obviously the practicality, and if you think you are in shape and want to test your limits, military pt is a good bet. Bodybuilding is a completely different beast; what is your opinion on what "in shape" is? If it is muscle endurance and cardiovascular health I'd say military pt is a good test. If it is muscle size, development, shape, etc. then you're opinion may differ. But neither opinion is retarded... they are just opinions.

And if you are tired of it all the time, maybe you need a new career?

Indeed. Might not be conducive of muscular development. But assuming you aren't a clerk and actually get out in the shit, you'd appreciate the benefits of it. I know better cardio would do wonders for me.

    Wow....just wow guys...

Thanks to the two or three of you that were able to focus and give me some advice. It was a little tough to pick the advice with substance out of all the trash, but again thank you.
