Starting a business is a great idea (never saw the movie but am assuming it was something like that).
I started my own small business, and it turned out way more lucrative than I expected, but at the same time it doesn't require lots of my resources.
And by "lucrative" I mean for the amount of time I spend really. I do less than 1 days work a week and bring in about 30g a year profit. So its great,
but I don't consider it durable by any means.
I had a lot of time off because I was out of work, but now if I can find a more sustainable second income, I could put myself in a much much better
position than before. As of now though, the sales I do is for a company where 4 of the 5 salesmen were let off. I'm literally the only one left as the
company is soon going under.
Rather then venture back into another sales job, I was thinking about getting into something completely different. But I have just as much need as
the OP here to just hear ideas. I have a BA in psych, not business, although it doesnt really matter I find for sales job. Still, I was looking at
"lucrative" psychology career options, and nearly all of them are business oriented in some fashion. I just want something where I'm more helping
people or using more of my psych skills. Human resource managment looked interesting and I'm curious if anyone on here does it?
I wish we had like an official job thread on here because this site gets a ton of traffic and it would be great to network with people or just get ideas.
But like the OP I want something durable, thats not gonna go down with our economy like the place I'm working for now. Any advice would really
be helpful. And I can't expand my current business as I've already considered that, thanks!
