it really depends on what your goals are....
sumo wrestlers consume about 20,000 calories a day (not kidding!) and drink a substantial amount of beer and sake with their meals...
but they are trying to pack on LBS.... fat, muscle, whatever....
the point is alcohol is empty calories.... and will turn into fat
if you're okay with that then bottoms up (as long as you're not on a liver toxic cycle)
