okay i want to start off with one.

Say i get a girls number on a saturday night, and i want to do something with her later that week.. When should i call her? tues / weds to set something up thurs.. or should i call her sooner. I have read/heard that ringing the next day sounds desperate and you should wait a few days, but then you don't give the girl enough time to make plans that following week, and by the time the weekend comes around I already have other plans.. just curious as to what your thoughts are on this.

For an official date which is planned ahead of time? Generally speaking we girls like 3 days in advance. It is respectful as well as it gives us the anticipation while thinking of you which is very important so we can get all worked up over it as we tell our female friends... while polishing out finger nails and toe nails and finding something to wear.....note: assuming that is IF we want to go out with you just as much..but that will work itself out regardless so why not start off like a gentleman just in case....

So here's my problem....

I have a friend that lives very far away from his woman... and each night, she always gives the same excuse... "Not tonight babe... yer too far away!" My friend thinks this excuse is BS.

Slimmer, just wanted to say keep this thread alive. Because on a serious note, a womans perspective is always needed around this forum. Ive always told you that you speak from the heart to these guys and gals and it shows. A womans sensitivity yields much understanding in many situations. my mom had a brain anyurism in 2003 and has yearly brain surgeries to maintain the stints in her brain. last year she also suffered a nearly fatal heart attack on christmas day. she lives over 800 miles away and i havent seen her in a little over 2 years. she is having her brain surgery comming up in about a month. Idk if praying works or not but if it does id appreciate everyone who believes it. but id appreciate it if you might be a b able to give me some confidence shell be ok or at least give me something to smile about. because she seems worried about this one but without really saying why. i just got off the fone with her and she started crying. im kinda at a loss of words now. this really sucks

OH MY! Buttery, I am so sorry to hear this. I bet you do feel so sad and a bit lost and I do not blame you one bit.
It is very important for you to know that prayers are heard. Prayers can be very powerful. So pray all you can and ask others to pray as well. I will.

The way for you to smile is to think of the little special moments you and your mom have shared together. Create a list of things. Anything. Any memories you can conjure up no matter how silly or trite they may seem right now. Then perhaps write her a little poem to reflect on how you feel about her. And the poem does not have to be perfect nor even rhyme. And then send it off. Put a stamp on it. Get it to her asap. Remember that anything made by you by hand will put a twinkle in her eyes.

A mother only wants to know she has been a good mother. Telling her this will warm her heart and while warming her heart, then your heart will light up with joy. Whenever you try to heal someone else, you heal yourself. Works every single time and is foolproof. So....send her your love and kindness. And then you will feel the connection with her you so want to have right now. As does she with you.

More than likely her biggest fear is wondering if you will be okay. it is strange how this happens. The person who is not doing well worries over their loved ones more, oddly enough. Sounds strange but 'tis true.

Let her know you are becoming the man you want to be and she will hear it in your tone of voice and give a deep sigh of relief knowing her son will be just fine.
