    Jump-Rope

I am looking at doing something in the evening for cardio that is cheap and doesnt take a ton of room. I do not own a treadmill or anything like that and cannot afford one at the moment. Is their anything that would be better for me cardio wise than jumping rope for say 30minutes to 1hr that involves little to no investment?

Jump rope is great. Over 30 mins prob isn't even necessary, jump rope will do a number on you. You can always make it more intense by going faster and doing different types of movements with your legs. Keep in mind it's very high impact so for that long every day might not be so great. As far other things to do you can purchase a pair of light weight dumb bells and make your own little circuit to do, that will really smoke you if you organize it correctly.

I read in MD that a jumping movement accelerates fat loss somehow. Any info on this?

Jumping rope will shake it off literally but the catch is you really have to build up to a long session
so take it easy and build up gradually.....but once in the rhythm it is GREAT

Jumprope is awesome. But as stated above, you should ease into it. Steve Reeves was big on power walking (walking at a fast pace). I've done this when injured or taking it easy on vacation and it works well. Burns fat but preserves muscle. I would suggest mix of jumprope and walk

Unlikely. Unless they mean the muscular and cardiovascular adaptations caused by skipping rope leads to a more efficient fat burner. Therefore you burn more fat at all times.

Jumping or vibrating does not shake fat out of the cell.
