Profiling my a$$..if im in law enforcemnt im looking at those with the most opportunity to commit these crimes first. Pedaphiles (the sickest of the sick) really think they are "helping"these children. What better place in their mind to do so than a job society deems as helping our children...
Its full of opportunity and where greater levels of conatct/relationships with children are socially accepted.

I do not however see homosexuals as predators...although i suspect dsm preys on young (over 18) males having sexual identity issues. Im just saying *LOL* j/k DSM...
What percentage of teachers are pedophiles in your opinion? Do you have a source to back up this claim? Naivety? Sounds like ignorance to me.

"Research that seeks neuropsychiatric differences between pedophiles and the general population, the prison population, and other sexual offenders has been undertaken. The reported differences include lower intelligence (an area of controversy), a slight increase in the prominence of left-handed individuals, impaired cognitive abilities, neuroendocrine differences, and brain abnormalities, particularly frontocortical irregularities and/or differences. A high comorbidity of impulse control disorders (eg, explosive personality disorder, kleptomania, pyromania, pathological gambling) has been noted in pedophiles (30%-55%).7 These factors have been postulated to indicate that pedophiles may have neurodevelopmental perturbations." While it's true that pedophiles will attempt to put themselves in situations where children are present, such as babysitting, hobbies or babysitting, to suggest that a lot of them become Teachers is a joke. Most of them have huge self esteem issues, narcistic and sociopathic tendancies. The majority of them don't have the skills and abilities to become teachers and while im sure some do, that can be said about all professions.

To say that the majority of pedophiles go on to become Teachers is a total joke.

Where did i remotely even come close to saying this? Since you brought it up - id say yes teachers should be looked at . For obvious reasons. Here are a couple links..after i read your post i looked it up ...pretty much contradicts what you stated. Second is pretty disturbing as well.

Now i dunno where you got this "majority of pedaphiles become teachers" from - but i never said it. Is it nieve not to look where the opportunity for abuse most presents itself (childcare , preschool , school , camp, etc) Hell yes it is!! Hell its all over the news - occurs so often SOMEWHERE in the US i dont see how you couldnt look at it as an issue. Just the increaed amount of potential victims by the above mentioned professions access to children should be a red flag to montitor and look at them more closely.
I agree to say majority of pedaphiles go on to be teachers isnt correct...however to discount the possibilty many or even just some do is SO foolish i dont even see why it would need defending.
Predators put themselves in the best poistion to aquire prey. Its a fact..this is the same. To suggest we not look more closely at those in those increased opportunity positions/occupations is ridiulous. If for no other reason...just the increased damage that could be done due to exponentially increased # of, and amount of time spent with potential victims.
I have a 4 year old stepdaughter..think i dont pay close attention to all her preschool teachers more closely because she is there daily? She will be playing T ball...i'll do the same with coaches..go to watch practices etc.
My sister is a teacher...I know her well obviously..and some of her coworkers as well...does it change my opinion that teachers should be closely monitored - hell no!
Do you have a child? If you did i seriously doubt you would question close scrutiny of those with authority over them , with extended periods of time with them , and ample opportunity to help OR HARM them. If you do have a child ..i cant belive you would argue this point.
Thats my point...no more...no less. If someone else made another - dont attach it to mine and argue with me regarding their opinions.
