High intensity is what provides you with the best gains possible not your ability to perform high volumes of exercise.So like after a few warm up sets, say your doing 4 work sets of 8 reps for bench, you'd go to failure on all for of them?Yes that is correct and if you go to failure on all 4 sets like you should, then do not expect to use as much weight on subsequent sets.
