Gentlemen. If you examined what is happening in our southwestern states you would change your opinion.

Let me put it to you bluntly, we as "Americans" stole our Southwestern states and from who? The indigenous people of that territory and I believe those were Mexicans as well as the rest of the U.S.A. which we RAPED and STOLEN from the Iroquois League.

Learn to deal with life. Go to your local ghetto get out of your car and wave your confederate flag and start calling people all the racial slurs you use so eloquently and see how far it gets you.

To many, it stands for states that fought against an overreaching federal government. They believed in the sovereignty of the states. I only know this because I recently read an article about people that backed the confederacy DESPITE being anti-slavery. I am not stating my personal beliefs, and I have no dog in this flag fight.

Most school books (high school / middle ...etc) seem to make it about slavery...but the civil war has VERY LITTLE to do with slavery. Most high level Economy classes will tell you more about the war than those books.

The flag represents a group of people standing up against an over reaching government. I wish the people of the time were good enough to put their lives on the line to end slavery...but that is just not how it was. The northerner's may have been slightly more tolerant but they did not care enough to die for it.

Think of it like this...what if your state was producing / sustaining / profiting and the rest of the US just consumes. What if the government steps in and starts controlling parts of your businesses and starts to tax heavy to make up for the rest of the the US without giving any noticable services...how long would your state allow it?
