no doubt the globe is warming. slightly.
but the issue that now is being considered, and will probably never be answered, is how much would it have changed without man's input? remember, the globe goes through huge fluctuations on it's own. Can't blame the last ice age (there have been many) from 10,000 years ago on man, or can you?
can't blame the eigght year pacific el nina/nino cycle on man, or can we?
there are some scientists that are now theorizing on top of all the other global cycles we know about, there are other extremely long range cycles in the 10k to 20k year range, of which the ice age is a part of.
Some are even theorizing there are tectonic cycles that range in the millions of years.
True, as responsible custodians of this planet, we really should try to have as small an environmental foot print as possible.
But I also think it naive to assme this planet's mean temperature should never change. How stupid is that? Of course there are going to be temperature fluctuations (some even caused by the sun) with or without any interference by man. And we are going through a temperature fluctuation right now.
To assume we can control the temperature fluctuations on the globe, is , well, arrogant if you ask me.
