I usually run more test than tren but feel I should give it a try with less test my next go around. How much have you tried?

I'm starting a test p / tren a cycle shortly and will be running both at 50mg ED. Relatively low dosages. If anything i'd run the tren higher than the test as you're thinking of doing. Test is the base compound, mainly in place to counter shutdown. That's not to say it's useless otherwise since we know a test only cycle can produce results, but the main workhorse of the cycle is the tren - so i'd run it higher.

Not to counter shutdown. But just so you actually have some testosterone in your body which is very important.
