I have never heard this and have seen many glass vials broken and used w/o a filter needle. Also, glass particles end up in the liver before they get to the lungs, esp with a IM injection. And its not that big of a deal anyways, now if it accumulates over time then it can pose a possible problem but that would be alot of glass amps broken and the glass bits end up in the injection and then injected. If you break the amps correctly, then there shouldnt be a issue.
