    So the oil itself was exposed to the air?
    For how long?
    If it was only a matter of seconds, I would just crimp the aluminum ring back on with a knife and pretend it never happened.

    Pretty much.
    Unless he's in a FILTHY room, there shouldn't be much floating around in the air.
    It's no different than opening an amp, then drawing up the oil.

    i agree with you there but its the fact that it could have happened before he had the gear and in god knows what circumstances

    how does he know that it wasnt off before? i wouldnt be taking the chance and tbh in the bin it would go
