find out if pierced or not
does she like small stud types or hoops or long dangling earrings
does she prefer silver or gold or colorful or organic
simple or bling bling
keep in mind birth stone has a personal touch
Pearls are always a lovely gift and are not a lot of dough even though you might think they are
Bracelets:
find out how big boned she is first to make sure the bracelet will go around her wrist. Even some thin girls have larger wrist believe it or not and the last thing you want is for her to try to put it on and not fit. And vice versa. You might think she has a large wrist and she doesn't. You could measure any bracelet she has and find out.
And does she have a charm bracelet? if so this is easy. Find a personal charm for her to add to it.
Necklace:
Does she like shorter or longer ones. Usually females tend to like one or the other on this.
Nice funky pin which has a meaning. Like her astrology sign symbol or animal or something personal. Or a little pendant with the same idea of something personal. Something which she could attach to a necklace she already has.
Vintage jewelry. Sometimes your local area might have a shop where estate jewelry is sold with interesting pieces and negotiable too.
OTHER:
Perfume
Scarf and glove set. Cashmere is always a fabulous choice. Soft and pretty.

Massage gift certificate
Framed photo of the 2 of you
Anything feminine like furry little slippers
Sparkly little purse for evening
Any little object of art which is heart shaped works most of the time

Home improvement. This is a tricky one. Make sure you get something romantic too even for the most humble of females.
