Typically the increased death of hair follicles from an increase in DHT will be permanent if it goes too long without being treated. From my personal experience there is a window of opportunity to restore your hair before the follicles completely die, for example after my last cycle the hair on the top/front of my head became noticeably thinner, and it was not until after that cycle had finished that I started using Nioxin shampoo and conditioner. Luckily for me, Nioxin restored all that I had lost and has maintained ever since. This was about a year and a half ago.
