Well i was beaching 315, squatting 375 and deadlifting 500 at 220.
Problem is when i cut to 205 they went down, bench 275, squat 345 and DEAD 405!
How do i stop that from happening. I have decided to delay using but it is hard to let go of your gains, I worked hard to get to where I am and it beats me up that I'm so much weaker, I wanna be strong while being lean, what would you suggest while cutting to maintain strength? It is easier said than done.
Training and diet is everything. They have to adjust.
I was recently cutting a large amount of weight. While on my cut though my training changed and I adjusted my diet to maintain strength. My bench went from 450 at 265 to 435 at 228. Now that i have cut so much I am comfortable adjusting my diet to slow the weight loss and add on more strength. I am still at 225 and my bench has gone back to 440.
I have not taken any AAS in a year and nothing more than bcaas and protein for supplements.
Your training volume and style must change as well as your macros in your diet to suit your needs. In this case for me it was to cut with minimal loss in LBM.
How did your strength stay so high. What I do is I cut on the same programme as I was bulking but reduced the volume, when I cut down my new found bench went from 315 to 275! I still ended up increasing my bench by 50 pounds from when I started but I would like to keep more, should I loose slower than a pound a week, should I reduce volume even further, I dunno I was very discouraged by how quickly I lost strength when i went below 10 percent.
And WOW you can Bench 440 at 225, that would be somewhere I'd like to be in the future, how tall are you?
Oh man, I'm 6'3" too, I was eating at 4500 with a breakdown of 50/30/20, then as the weeks went by and I stopped losing I'd cut the carbs, by week 6 of my cut I was down to 3250 at 40/40/20 and then following on i kept everything the same and dropped the carbs. I was eating eating 2500 cals with 325g protein, 125g carbs and 78 fat. I also took creatine after workouts; glutamine before bed and in the morning with breakfast. I ate 5 meals a day and centred all my carbs around my workouts. I got 8 hours of sleep on average besides the few days I had midterm or finals, even though i slept less on those days my diet was still in order.
How old were you when you first cycled, what were your stats, I ask because you are my height and are at a position I would like to be in the future.
