I prefer 23 gauge. Remember you don't have to have a shorter needle. you just don't stick it in as far. It's pointless buying different sizes for different body parts, just get 1.5"

When I was first injecting I started on my delts and when they started to look like pin cushions I moved to the quads. I was using 1.5" needles everywhere and not having any issues. Then one day I had shaky hands and I think I did some minor tissue damage because my leg blew up. I really don't think it was an infection because there were no other issues and it went away entirely on its own. After that I switched to 1" needles and I never had a problem again.
I kept all the 1.5" needles and now I do use them sometimes on my glutes. Some people are just better at injecting than others. For me, moving to 1" needles definitely helped.
