    I hate to bash other people's beliefs, and they can have them if they want. But it was created by a person that was well known for their science fiction and fantasy stories. multiple quotes similar to this effect from him, "You don't get rich writing science fiction. If you want to get rich, you start a religion."

    Scientology went from (in my opinion) a self help organization to a "Religion"

    The only reason i can see for the Scientologists to take this step is the favorable tax treatment provided by the IRS as a non profit, (protects many of their investments) and it provides a shroud of secrecy for much of their indoctrination. Many religious leaders are provided a "confidentiality" status between themselves and other members is anything should ever go to court.

    Plus, it is easier to talk people out of their money, and you have more control over an individual, if you call yourself a religion.

    i agree... i still think SOME of the very basic prinsiple are good...but the "people involved just seemed to warp it into a scary thing
