    I was in Afghanistan last Ramadan. Tough one, that month is. And you are right, nothing passes the lips, not even water, as long as the sun is up. Out of respect, I'd try to confine openly eating and drinking water, but one of the Muslims that worked for me explained that although they appreciate me not eating in front of them, it's no big deal. There were enough Muslims in the office there that they had their own "support" group (if you want to call it that) to where seeing others eating/drinking didn't bug them too much.

    Now for the poor blokes working construction outside in the heat........................

    I work in montreal and about 30% of the employees at my work will fast starting tomorrow! I might fast for one day just to feel the pain - No pain no glory!

    Imagine the construction workers in Dubai! just sayin'
