I guess a more conservative approach is preferable. I am impatient, don't like to wait for long esters to kick in. If I want to metabolize 500mg Test/week I frontload instead of metabolizing 200ish mg the first week. To each his own, he will get to where he wants to be, will just have to wait for it.

Sure, I am a firm believer in educating yourself properly about AAS use before starting. Understanding how a half life works is very crucial! I don't feel it is unsafe, perhaps it becomes complicated though Maybe for a first time user it is easier to do the same injection schedule through-out.
