By the which style did you practice? I was in Tang Soo Do for about 4 or 5 years. Never went to any formal type of school but hooked up with guys who were kind of disillusioned with the politics and money side of the art. It was great for me since they taught me with no fee but I guess I paid it all the same during the sparring sessions! It surely motivated me to learn quickly!

I trained in Tae Kwon Do for about 3 years not counting my time in Korea. I don't really count the 6 months or so i "studied" there as i could never find my rhythem and wasn't overly confident in my instructors abilities. I always felt on a good day, i could kick his ass, considering i also outweighted him by almost 40pounds.

I became interested in Tae Kwon Do my 13thh summer. I was studying Kung Fu at the time at a buddies church, and we had a guest show up mastering in TKD. He did this really incredible flying double back spin kick. Never really seen anything like it since. Prior to that, to me it seemed kung fu was more of a finesse style, and Tae Kwon Do really gutted it out which is why I found a dojo to learn at. This new dojo actually wanted me to pay, so i had to hold off a few months until I pleaded my case to my pops and he finally agreed to pry open his dusty wallet and let me join.
