Meeting with Dr. Crisler

Anybody on the forum here recently have any experience meeting with Dr. John Crisler for HRT in the last year or so?

Iv'e found he and his office are pretty hard to get in contact with. Was wondering if he is still even practicing, due to his
website looking a little bit shaky and there is nobody to take any calls or from what I've seen return emails.

I have a total test of 300 and a free test level of 62 and all doctors tell me is that I'm "In the perfecly normal range".

I've met with 3 endocrinologists and a couple urologists in my local area and haven't been getting any help,
I've had these levels over a year and a half and I'm interested in talking to a doctor that focuses more on the hormone aspect, and
rather than just sending me along my way.

Chris you're on the right track then. Find a specialist and get a proper diagnosis of the root cause. The title endo or euro do not automatically indicate an expertise in hormones, unfortunately.

Tell us what state your in and maybe some members can refer you to another note-worthy doc as well!

Hey thanks kel, I'm located in Northern California and I'm willing to travel out of state or even to Los angeles
to reach a good specialist if neccessary.

I've noticed as well that endo does not mean hormone specialist. I was surprised the lack of concern focused on hormones by the few that I have seen

Maybe there are some good ones out there, but my endo doesn't have a clue about trt. I know....someone says this once a week, so today is my turn. Just got back from getting e2 bw (on my own) done because he tells me estrogen is nothing to concern myself over. Finding a good doc is easier said then done. Good luck to you.

In the finding a doc sticky there is a link to an A4M search engine. Play with it and see what you come up with in your area. Endo's seem to deal with diabetes and metabolic diseases, etc., not really hormones. Like the sticky says, always call first and interview staff so as not to waste your time and theirs!

x 2 on calling ahead. I started doing that as well. "Do you use any of the newer protocols for TRT... hcg/AI/Test?" "What blood test/tests do you use when diagnosing and treating TRT?" etc etc ... those types of questions will help... if the guy doesnt know the difference between being primary or secondary hypo, RUN

Dr Mariano is based out of california. It might be southern, but its a lot damn closer than Michigan.

If, today, I could choose any doctor to see for myself or a friend, it would be Dr Mariano.

You must go see him at least once for him to become your Doc. After that you can do virtual visits via phone or skype. I spoke with him every 30 days for first 18 months getting dialed in on levels, do labs and then review with him and adjust your treatment
. Now that levels are good I speak with him every 3-6 months assuming you continue to feel well.

He's been great with me, good service good results and fairly reasonable in pricing. In comparison to the Endos I tried in Northeast night and day difference. He knows what to do and understands the sense of urgency to address it.

Thank you very much for your response. Very helpful. Sounds like your first 18 months were expensive...but very much worth it I'm sure. Nice to hear he has a sense of urgency because my patience has been spent. If you have any more advice in this regard it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again.

Honestly his fees I feel are quite reasonable for results given, most expensive part of my treatment was the cost of the labs and those were covered by my insurance once I met my rather steep deductible.

All and all I did have some decent out of pocket but considering how bad I felt 2 years ago and how remarkably better I feel now it was the best investment/expense of made in my entire life. Great ROI

FYI. 6'5" 232lbs 49" chest 36"waist 18" biceps 12% ....... 48 years old too
