"slowing down" over there can literally mean death so why dont you just sum up since you are clearly just giving shit advice.

The OP needs to consider the benifits and costs of both options which is what he is doing. With gaining mass you will lose cardio, its pretty dam black and white. yes you will eventually get it back however when you do you will also lose a great deal of gained mass in the process.

Your such a typical naive "i know everything" private its unbelievable. I sincerely hope you gain some useful experience some day in your professional life and understand that it is a trade off when adding mass to reduce cardio.
So we should never gain mass because its going to slow us down and we shouldn't cut because we will lose mass?

How is my position not defendable? I've been defending it threw this entire thread pretty well. To the point where you are now upset and only able to reply with "talk to me when you have deployed" I don't claim to know everything. I actually ask questions quite often here and in person to my leadership in the military.

I even gave a real life story one of my NCOs told me. He said because of his powerlifting that certain things like ruck marches and such were easier. I've even asked if in combat people do a lot of long distance running (more than a mile) and most of the combat guys I've talked said no. they said during combat its pretty much short sprints they are doing, trying to get to cover so they can return fire safely.
