Hang on - if you *weren't* to have a 'steak and egg' type breakfast with carbs, what would it be? Surely you're not eating carbs by themselves... e.g. a bowl of oats but nothing else?

In that case, I think the simple answer (not necessarily solution) in part is to stick with what works best. If oats and other 'true' carbs make you miserable, avoid them. Luckily, you have options that don't seem to affect you as severely, that's a good thing.

Having said that, you might find that you're better suited to a lower carb, higher fat type diet. Not necessarily ketogenic - but close to it. Starchy carbs @ 50g/day. Fibrous veggies however are open season - eat as much as you want.

He also put me on TPN while I was in the hospital and cut my calories down to like 500/day and accused me of sneaking food into the hospital being the reason I wasn't losing weight. He ran next to no tests on me during the two years I was under his care, and the ones he did run weren't run according to standard protocol. I trust nothing that this idiot has said. In fact, I fired him and every doctor he referred me to.
I can't say i'm surprised. I'm finding more and more that an alarming number of docs out there are clueless, or using outdated protocols and methods at best. Very, very scary for the uninformed.

Well then, let's get back to silver and beyond!

This isn't going to be all that difficult. Correct me if i'm wrong - but you're not looking for a female bodybuilder's physique, correct? You simply want to be lean and at a 'healthy' weight and bodyfat percentage, correct?

It's been egg whites, veggies and oats.

It's even worse for the desperate.

That is correct. I'm just trying to get back into lifting for the joy of it, back to competing in triathlons and such. I put on mass way to fast and way too easy to make that a focus.
