A few tips as well...
1. Do not send smiley faces. It is extremely unmanly. Um not true it's an expression of an emotion
2. Don't send long texts. Get your point across. I don't know anyone who likes reading long ass texts unless they're mandatory such as instructions. I like clarity and I like cute texts even if they are long
3. Refrain from multiple texts. For example, if you text her and she doesn't reply, do not text her again trying to get her attention. Wait until she replies, if she doesn't reply in a prolonged period of time chances are she is no longer interested. This one is somewhat true... If I don't respond I didn't get the texts or I'm busy and haven't looked at my phone so if I get ten texts like why aren't you answering me then ill be annoyed
4. Ignore her. Sounds stupid, doesn't it? But it works. Say you two hit it off really good, texting each other every few minutes. Just stop what you're doing and ignore her for 30 minutes. It will drive her insane wondering what you're doing. Make up some stupid excuse as to why you were busy when you come back such as "Sorry, I was taking a shower" or "Sorry, I was cooking". Say something to appear she isn't your number one priority and that you have other things besides her to contend to. Don't come across as needy, make her acknowledge you have things to do. If she does this, do the same to her. Wait an hour or so or at least the time she took to reply to your text before texting her back.
If you ignore me, I'm ignoring you back that's just rude and childish.
5. Say your texts out loud before sending them and double check them to make sure you don't make any errors
