I didn't catch how old you are. I have been bi-polar my whole life and a serious case. My depression didn't surface until I was 26 yrs old and it put me in the hospital. Depression is caused by many underlying things that sometimes are not evident to us but a doctor might see. Even if you have never had any mental health issues it doesn't mean you don't have some now. Please see a doctor about it. WE are only guessing on this board and don't have and will not get all the info we need to make a suggestion except go to a professional. That my education and my experience talking. ...crazy mike

So many factors. So many questions. Yes I do seek psychiatrist no psychologist. And yes again they will want to trial and error you with some meds. But you have to be willing and honest with yourself with what ever may be contributing to the depression. I've been through the gammot with all kinds of meds. A hostof many to just a few and not everyone need the same dose or type or any for that matter. But the questions start with seeing a professional. They will get to something maybe and a little trial if you and he/she agree is not a bad way to go. Use your own body reactions to tell you what to continue with or with out. If I were not for Prozac and a few other stabilizers I use, I tell you the truth. I would not be here today and there might probably be some others that would not have made it through my wrath that's not good to say but true. If I stop my Prozac my wife will tell you and mew first before I notice anything. So it's different we all know that, but you must start somewhere. Depression can be a killer, down right dangerous killer. Both on the suicidal and the homicidal front. If any substances are involved then I would pay more attention to what is going on and what I should do and how quick. Most all anti-depressants carry unwanted sides. Some intense and some not. But they might be worth it for a good life. Seek some help and be honest, is this just a passing ? if not then get on with it so you can get on with living. Hang in there and do the right thing for yourself and others because depressiioon will affect others. ...crazy mike
