Accepting unemployment you've paid into is one thing. Continuing to accept money for indefinite periods of time or refusing to accept a job because it would end your free money is another.

Agreed. Ever wonder what happens to all that money that is paid into unemployment that is not collected and expired? It goes into someones pocket somewhere in government.

There and to the people who continue to collect even when they have no right to. In my opinion the government telling someone they have the right to anything does not mean they necessarily have the right.

I agree. I have only collected 2x in my life after being laid off but also actively searched for a job and it was after paying in for many years.

I don't have a problem with people who do that. However, I do have a problem with another situation and it's one we have here in the U.S. and it's going to become a massive problem. We all know the government waste money, including the money we are supposedly paying in for emergency situations like being unemployed or money we pay in for pensions, etc. Well, when the money isn't there, for whatever the reason may be, those who demand the money are only making the problem worse. The solution? Stop these programs that require us to pay money into them. It doesn't work. Stop government backed pensions, mathematically they're impossible and are killing us.

I know somebody who worked 60+ hours a week AND accepts government assistance. There are a lot of people who don't have the skill set to acquire the jobs that pay enough to live and raise kids on and you know minimum wage isn't going to cut it.
