so it wasn't a single injury, but an accumulation of a series of micro injuries.....
.....I'd experience the "same" thing over ten years ago. Basically, i'd wake up with a "kink" in my back that progressively got worse as the day progressed. I'd make it to work, (desk job) and after a bit, i'd go to stand up. getting verticle was a challange, and could take as long as 30 seconds or more. I always assumed it was an alignment probblem, so imagine my frustration when my inversion table provided no relief. Many years go by, and FINALLY i get an XRay, and come to find out, i have three distinct problems, with only one I knew about. The arthritas was the worse.
The good news for me is that it's "just" pain. So I can work through it somewhat. Two alleve in the AM/PM totalling 4 per day has really helped.
All i can suggest is that there is something about your workout routines that has been slowly deteriorating your disc, and after you get this problem cured, you may want to do a rethink on what you do. Sounds onerous, but that's life. For me, I've modified my routines and my number #1 priority is "injury prevention". So i don't do the big compounds anymore (deads/squats).
Good luck Lunk, let me know how it goes with you
