1) Depending where you are, you might be lucky to see or meet stars. Some of my past girlfriends have actually met some on their job (AMC movie theater), at Denny's and other restaurants (I once saw Taylor Swift with her agent and manager), and hospitals.

Bad Points
1) Salaries here are higher than other parts of the nation but the cost of living here SUCKS.
2) To say the state is broke is an understatement since they charge their citizens for everything. I once had to pay DMV to remove a NO INSURANCE warrant from my registration, despite it showing on their records that proof of insurance was presented the month before the warrant was placed on the registration.
3) Highway traffic 24/7, no matter what day or even holidays.
Mate,
California has seven (7) different geographic climate zones.
Desert, Mountain, Coastal, Rain forest, Delta, and I forget the other two.
Additionally, I can get on my harley and ride almost year round.
I have a variety of things to do within easy driving distance of my house. Spelunking, skydiving, swimming, fishing, wine tasting, micro brewies, concerts....
Where I live in California, traffic is not so bad.

You have a myopic view of California....
.....You just need to get out of L.A. a bit more often and go check it out!
