kidney diseases causing pain is actually not very common. a small stone in the kidney will often be undetected for a long time. even tumor in the kidney may only become obvious when the tumor eats into the kidney's surrounding capsule. infection in the kidneys will cause pain, but then you'll have a ton of other symptoms too, fever, chills, painful pee, and kidney pain.
most of the sharp loin pains that comes in waves are due to disease in the ureters(the tubes connecting the kidneys to the bladder.) stones in the ureters, even small ones, will cause severe pain due to the spasm of the ureter. depending on the position of the stone, you can get pain in the loin, or loin-to-groin pain.
back pain... we all know that very well.
every lifter has it.
