Holy shit! I agree but being tied down and having a cig put out on you? WTF is that? Damn buddy. Have you beaten their asses yet? My Dad beat me w/a mop and tried to choke me w/it till i finally started fighting back and whipped his ass. My mom beat the hell out of me w/ a belt cause i wouldn't eat homony one night at dinner and chaced me w/a wooden spoon. When she caught up w/me she layed into me. They dont mess w/me anymore. Haven't in years.

But i would never do my kids like that cause i know the hatred that builds inside and i don't ever want them to be afraid of me.

I refuse to let my upbringings affect how i parent. I'm stern, yes. And my wife jumps my shit all the time for the way i talk. But i have yet to lay a hand on anyone. I won't do it. I feel taking things from them(computer, tv, ipod) is far more effective. Besides, i'm not out to hurt my girls physically. I would be a complete loser if i did and possibly make them hate me. I'm not down w/that. But a little spank sometimes, like one on the ass, when warranted is ok to me. I have yet to do it though.
