So I am going through my newsfeed on facebook and I come across this post from a girl I know since I was about 18 or so (i am 34) and I clearly remember her going to clubs and parties and leading guys on by letting them buy drinks and what not. She was always a bit odd to me and had the personality of a gym sock to say the least but definitely cute. She is now a cop and single makes good money likes to show off on facebook so and so forth.

Today she posted this which I thought was retarded since every girl I have dated has been independent and I refuse to date a lap dog or a woman who thinks I am going to support. As a matter of fact my woman makes more than me income wise but my assets far exceed hers but it doesn't matter since we go 50/50 on everything so there is no resentment down the road on either one of our minds. I of course treat her and she reciprocates. I don't understand why this needs to be posted and what type of shitheads are you dating anyways that you need to let the world know this?? Plus grow up you are 33 and not some child it is the norm to be independent and not have someone spoon feed you

What do you guys think of this or am I just overreacting?

whats really so bad about a positive message of empowerment?
theres a lot of stigmas about single moms and women in general, some days they are in our face and other days a quite understanding.
but when your flooded with the same messages posted over an over every day from the same person just said in different ways...it gets old and irritating.

My best friend posts this stuff all the time *ugg* and even I got sick of it ~its like getting junk mail or spam on your feed. it had me to the point like " yea I get it already, now who are you trying to convince~ your friends or your self that your awesome?"
so I just told her its annoying and I set my feed to ignore her, and just drop by her page once an awhile to say hi.

I dont think you over reacted...especially since she isnt even anyone ACTUALLY involved in your life. She prob wont even notice your not her friend lol
I never understood the why people have "friends" that are not actual friends?...its just like a form of weird stalking of someone once known lol

Sexy thanks for giving me a woman's perspective on this. There is really nothing bad about it but I guess I am just more of a humble person and don't need to let people know that "I am making it" and "I am not kept". She not only posted this meme or whatever you call it she posted some hashtags with the likes of "#onmygrind #moneymotivated #gettin it #otherstupidbullshit". She is BTW a police officer and I don't know what that has to do with her job whatsoever. Lol I am now starting to feel bad about talking about her so much but I want to respond to everyone's comments and be attentive.

My mother is one of my biggest role mothers next to my father and she is very independent. I also have to say my father would not be the successful man that he is without my mother by his side. My girlfriend is also strong independent woman and that is a big reason why I am so attracted to her.

You're right about the "friends" that aren't even friends which is why I have been unfriending a lot of people lately. amazes me how some people forget that what they post on FB and what their friends post can and does get seen by employers even if its locked as private *shakes her head*

no worriez, i never took what you said as a jab at females ... h3ll we all have stupid and emotional moments (including gals lol) and some people just seem to have never ending stupid moments ~she seems like 1 of them.

Im glad you are doing well take care" ... even on this site I only accept girls as friends ~ just outta respect for TS. I just say "sorry I dont accept friend requests from male members.
