there are some really old bulls at my gym, and some bigger guys at my gym, but in my age bracket, I'm probably better developed.

Sounds almost like I'm bragging about not being skin and bone, or a fat ass like the rest in the grandpa division, ya think? =)

Yea TR I hear you. I haven't seen anyone in my gym over the age of 45 -50 that looks as good as I do. I don't want to blow my horn, you've seen my pic, nothing great but solid and with some good shape. I do look like a small bit of a BB, I think and so with my wife. The guy I train with is the only other person in my gym that is over 45 that looks as good as him. AS far a body and shape, symmetry I'm on the way to over turning the roles as a Bodybuilder. He is extremely strong and lifts on average of 50 - 100 lbs. more than me. I'm genetically weak, not strong at all, never. ...cm

I wonder what it is, health issues or? That stops us when we get older.

In my gym there are a few guys that do give me hope. . . But, I mean a few. Seriously maybe 2-3 that I have ever seen.

I dunno, the fitness/juicing crowd is a very small group at any age. Kinda good though, I look like a fvcking super hero compared to the usual Homer Simpons I see everywhere I go.

There are a variety of reasons the older crowd loses interest in lifting weights.

    1) As one ages, we have accumulated more injuries and have to work through more pain. This is certainly true in my case. even right now, I just took two more alleve and need to sit in my recliner to help reduce the pain of the arthritis in my back. I also have it in my neck, although it's been in remission for the last couple of years. And my knees. Most, instead of being willing to deal with the pain and continue going to the gym, are satisfied with not aggravating the pain, as is common with pain when you hurt AND go to the gym.

    2) As one ages, there is a corresponding drop in libido. So if you are not interested in other women, and not looking at other women, chances are, you are not interested in how you look either.

    3) There is also the thought amongst some aging individuals that "I've worked my whole life, now it's time to enjoy!" I've heard a few times from others in my age group the same thing. Why would I want to go to the gym when I can kick back, drink some beer, and eat a good meal?

There are other reasons too. These three are the first to come to mind.

I had a buddy in Afghanistan that was questioning all my gym time. He's like...

    ..what's the point?

I told him that part of it is still looking good for the fairer sex. And being able to do something about it when the time arises.

...he's like my woman really interested in sex anymore, and I'm ok with that?

At this point, I really had no answer, and didn't know what to say?????

My wife isn't interested in sex, and she wouldn't care if I sat on the couch. She wishes I wouldn't put so, so much into it but as she has always from before marriage supported my hobbies, my OCD's my skiing and my bodybuilding. She wants me to succeed in all I endeavor.

As fore me, I wanted to look like a muscle man , ha, a bodybuilder since I was 10 yrs. old. Everything got in the way. Now I live the life, no work, eat, sleep go to the gym help take care of the house and cooking. Take care of Cathy and the pets.

Not many can do what I do, but as you stated, the pains, oh, arthritis, bursitis, and now so much tendonitis. I'm in the gym lifting weight most my age cannot but I have a hard time getting up off the floor. However I feel like a rock and that feel good. People see and I like it, vanity YES, I work for it. ...cm

And I am the "Oldest Juicer on the Forum" I want that title TR. I PM'ed Admin. What do you think?

Ha, proud to announce with short word, great night last night, better then a few years (no questions /comments) just after I wrote that last post we took a real nice nap together. So there's hope. Cathy is 68 and suffered strokes and two hip replacements, and one shoulder replacement that is locked with little to no range of motion. I love her ! ...crazy mike

I think you look great "oldest juicer on the forum"
and I do not mean you look great for you age. You look great in general. the age just adds the "not sure I believe him" effect.
