Our advice: There's nothing romantic or age-defying about a drug that comes with long term risks to you and the people you live with. Try safer ways to bring back that lovin' feeling: Eat right, exercise, reduce stress, and have a long talk with your partner and your doctor. If you do need treatment, reassess after a few months and watch for worrisome side effects in you and those around you.

Well, I guess that settles it. ;-)
I really don't have a problem with this... I didn't read the whole thing, but look at the title: "don't fall for the hype"

we actually advocate the same sentiment on this very forum - regularly. there is a lot of hype out there and notice they bring up the "romantic" and "age-defying" notions that many lay people have with HRT in general.

TRT is not about that, but when its medically indicated, it can absolutely help. if it's not medically indicated then "don't fall for the hype!"

Well put. But read the whole thing. You'll see the slant and people who are considering TRT, and who trust Consumers could be influenced. This is a biased piece and it is misleading in a very sly way.

I should have started TRT fifteen years ago and it was articles like this one and the advice of either undereducated, or misinformed or incompetent doctors that influenced me and had me put off treatment for such a long time. This is a very, very harmful article and it's easy to see how it can sway ones thinking.

Meanwhile, if Consumer's really wanted to do justice to HRT and the millions of people who's lives have been better because of it, they could have written a completely different article. And everyone on this forum knows this well.

Absolutely, there has been a certain degree of hype but I believe the ads we see daily on TV are a blessing to those who have been suffering silently because it brings the "hidden disease" of testosterone deficiency into the sunlight. Pharmaceutical companies didn't create Low T. Let them spend millions! IMO, it's the best thing that has happened to make people aware of the issue - and encourage people who have been in doubt to take that first step.
