Wood since gold is weighed in Troy weight in which a pound is 12oz vs the normal 16oz.

the gold because a troy ounce weighs more. but yes it would take less troy ounces to make a pound.
    1 troy ounce = 31.1034768 grams
    1 ounce = 28.3495231 grams

You walk into a room where there are three primates held in their respective cages:
    1) A lion who is eating the flesh of a goat.
    2) An orangutan who is playing with blocks.
    3) A donkey who is sitting idle.

Who is the most intelligent primate in the room ?

Well an orangutan is the only primate you listed so I don't know if that was the trick to the question.

    The orangutan is my answer.
But the donkey is smarter because he is planning his escape.

I don't know about that. I've never seen a chimp want to run tren at age 18.

A man is in court for killing his wife. In the closing statements the man's lawyer surprises everyone when he announces "His wife was just missing. Everyone look at those doors. His wife is going to walk in those doors in about 30 seconds."The entire court is silent and the jury stares at the door as the lawyer and the defendant stare at them. After a couple of minutes the lawyer says "See! If you were so sure he killed his wife, you wouldn't be watching that door!"

The jury goes into deliberation and comes back almost immediately with a guilty verdict.

Why did the jury convict him?

A murderer is condemned to death. He has to choose between three rooms. The first is full of raging fires, the second is full of assassins with loaded guns, and the third is full of lions that haven't eaten in 3 years. Which room is safest for him?

Sorry but your question is incorrect... an oz is an oz....

you did not ask about a troy oz of gold. and you are incorrect in gold always being weighed in troy oz... a standard bar of gold is 50 lbs. that equates to 800 oz...

so an ounce is an ounce in your question...

"gold is measured in troy ounces, often simply referred to as ounce when the reference to gold is evident. One troy ounce is equivalent to 31.1034768 grams."

"The standard gold bar held and traded internationally by central banks and bullion dealers is the Good Delivery bar with a 400 oz (troy-ounce) (12.4 kg or 438.9 ounces) nominal weight."

Gold is always measured in troy but some time just referred to as an ounce
