Pretty bizarre really. I can see my house from space thanks to satellites yet they can't track a plane. Go figure.

Agreed, what are those tracking beacons for if they don't work?

How in gods name is the content from the black not transmittable during flight. Seems pretty archaic they need to physically have it.

They dont work if it's a total devastation from a bomb.

Vietnamese aircraft spotted what they suspected was one of the doors belonging to the ill-fated Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370.

There has also been spotted a couple of oil slicks and possible debris.

Not all AC have internet capability and most that do, do not have true high speed satellite internet so it doesn't track them.

I'm sure they know more than they are telling or releasing at this time.

Well I guess the point I was trying to make is that with all the technology presently available, it's seems almost unfathomable that we can't track plans from take off to landing.

Heck, even smart phones have GPS locators. Lol

They can and they do. Especially after 9/11 all those commercial planes are being accounted for at all times.

Being they have no idea of where it went down normally means it was on radar one second then gone the next. Sounds like it exploded mid air.

This morning on NPR they were saying they found an oil slick on the water they may have passed over. But they are not taking it as proof in any direction yet.
Scary to think it can just disappear

Oil slick and possible door/debris are not related to the missing aircraft. Becoming more of a mystery. Maybe they will find it on the dark side of the moon?

The flight from rio to Paris took 2 years to find. It was in an underwater mountain range.

The waters where this flight was over are extremely deep also.....

China says no proof satellite images linked to MH370

Malaysia plane may have flown for hours after vanishing

The missing Malaysia Airlines aircraft may have flown for about four hours past the time it reached its last confirmed location, the Wall Street Journal reported on Thursday, citing two people familiar with the details.

This raises the possibility that the plane, and the 239 people on board, could have flown on for additional distance of about 2,200 miles (3,500 km), potentially reaching the border of Pakistan or as far as destinations in the Indian Ocean or Arabian Sea, the paper said.

Reddit is rife with commenters fixated on the numerical coincidences of the flight’s disappearance. “Interesting numerology,” said one Reddit user, RedditB. “Flight 370 disappears on 3/7 while reportedly traveling 3,700 km. Flight 370 flew at an altitude of 37,000 feet when it was last reported using flight tracking software. Luigi Maraldi, age 37, was one of the individuals whose passport was stolen. Malaysia Airlines is one of Asia’s largest, flying nearly 37,000 passengers daily. As of today, we are beginning the 37th month since the Fukushima tragedy, which is located on the 37th degree and initially caused 37 injuries at the plant.”
