honestly there has not been too many downsides as I knew what I was getting into and am committed for life. The only downside I could think of would be switching docs if you move or something, because as like someone said, you almost have to restart your treatment with a new doc and prove your condition, because they want all meds/blood work/decisions under their control

I look at TRT like this: there are downsides, as there is to any medication, and this is long term medication for a chronic condition. The question that your have to ask yourself is if the benefits outweigh the risks. for most, they do. I feel the benefits and I don't mind the extra doctor visits. I use the visits to optimize my health.

I'll say this, TRT has really made me become more of an active participant in my health. I scour message boards, I research, I get my labs instead of just letting my doctor tell me it's ok, etc.

The only thing I am really concerned about long term is cardiovascular disease as it runs in the family and also, what are the consequences of pinning for say 50 years into the muscle tissue? Are there any long term studies on this, and how concerned should we be about scar tissue if we inject twice a week with 6 sites?

I think the doctor that you have and their attitude towards HRT make all the difference in the world.

My first doctor was not very knowledgeable on replacement therapy and was afraid of injections for his patients. He resisted me at every turn.

Now I am part of a direct pay men's health care program where my doctor is responsive, he listens, he lets me try things, and he is available 24/7 via his mobile phone, email, and text messages. It doesn't get better than the way I have it.

Well... if it was all free it might be better. But that's it!

BTW, I am in Kansas City - cxxxxxxxx
