Thinking of taking Anavar oral only, need some advice

This is my first post, and i am a newbie. I've never taken steroids, but have been lifting for 3 years on and off. I have been lifting for about 5 months non stop and have been seeing results, but want something to help me boost up my gains some more.
Will taking an anavar oral only cycle do anything? Each pill is 20mg, and I plan on taking 40 the first week then 60mg after that. Is this enough?
Also I read that a pct is important and to take nolvadex and clomid. I'm kind of confused about the whole pct thing.
I really need advice/info, and yes I've done research just keep reading different things and not sure what is right and what is wrong.

First off, I done plenty on var only cycles back in the day. DONT DO IT. Second, at 21 you would be stupid to do any cycle. Three, if you don't even know or understand one and two you need to takes step back. It's not worth it, they say var is mild yes and no. Research dude, research. Wait till your 24-25 than start with test only.

    Mate,

after lifting "5 months non stop" and only 21, I doubt the advice you get is that which you seek.

what are the rest of your stats? knowledge of nutrition?

And even though var is mild on the HPTA system, at the doses you are considering, it will still shut down natty test production.

    Good luck!

Out of curiosity, how many calories are you currently consuming every day?

About 4-5 thousand. Sometimes more. Depending on how much I sweat at my job.

Seriously? Wow. Can you give an example of what you ate yesterday?

Sorry, meant to say I only take in that much in weekdays (when I work). I will eat alot for breakfast then before work. And I eat on all three of my breaks. Lunch bieng when I eat the most. I'll have something with alot of calories, sometimes something junky since I was trying to gain some more lbs. On the weekends I eat a lot cleaner since I don't really sweat (obviously lol) when at home. So I take in about 2500-3000 calories.

I'll eat some eggs, with toast and lot of pb on them in the morning. Then some meat with rice before work.
    Chicken with veggies
Tuna sandwich with a small bag of chips, yogurt parfait.
    Some juice thing
    Milk with banana bread
And I'll have a protien bar here and there though out the day.
I know it might not seem like 4-5 thousand but I eat alot of it.

honestly, "5 months non stop" is not a long time, even if you have been lifting longer with breaks.

So I've done some analysis for you. Based on your stats and assuming a moderate activity level (where most of us are really at), your TDEE is around 3100 cals a day. Your minimum protein requirement puts you at 240 grams/day, although your ideal intake at TDEE is closer to 310.

See, everyone comes here "knows about nutrition", but only a minority really do. I'm trying to make a point here. If your diet is not spot on, any gains due to anabolics post cycle will evaporate quickly, including var.

and for those that really do know about nutrition, can immediately tell you their TDEE, how many grams of protein per day they consume, how many cals/day above/below TDEE they are eating, why they are doing what they do, and also track their daily eating.

Nutrition is THE most underrated aspect of what we do.

    Make sense?

It doesn't sound like you are actually calculating it. 4000-5000 calories a day is a lot and what you just described would not be 4000-5000.

Are calculating calories and macros or are you just ballparking/guessing?

TR has done the ground work here. The important lesson, as he articulates so well, is that many new guys to this site don't know how to plan their nutrition, and nutrition and training are the absolute FUNDAMENTALS. There's much more to nutrition that eating clean. Many guys think it's enough just to avoid junk food. Your ability to gain lean muscle or drop body fat has more to do with what you eat, when you eat, and how much you eat than any steroid you could take. As TR is demonstrating, if you don't eat beyond your TDEE with the correct proportions of macros, you cannot grow new muscle or even keep it.

agree. sounds like he is guesstimating. If he eats a huge volume, then maybe. The few things I do see that are calorically dense are the PB and the meat before work. But it doesn't seem like he is eating much of that.

    Xarmx,
if you post your macros per meal and total macros per day, we might get a better feel for what you are doing. Again, just making a point, but the food you eat is really not that clean.

Let me show you. This is my total macros per day and total macros per meal from yesterday I believe.

so until you can do this level of analysis, whichever method you choose, pretty hard to say you sufficiently know about nutrition and how it impacts your body. You have to go through this process to learn your body. Once you do this task, then after, you do not need to keep this level of detail. The pros here have all went through this process, and know it like the back of their hand. Then after they have mastered this aspect, they spot check from time to time to make sure the process is going smoothly, or they might go through this process again briefly if their body is not reacting as anticipated.

I'm guessing you guys lost him. This is WAY more work than most any 21 yr old wants to do. It's much easier to use the guesstimator than a Macro Calculator. lol

Ive never seen this comment before.

5 months working out full time and you expect/want more/faster gains? It's only 5 months. Why does everyone want instant gratification? 5 months is nothing in the scheme of things.

Yes, unfortunately many of them read a few body building magazines and figure the pros do nothing but shoot up, lift weights, and get huge. They really don't understand that the pros spend far more hours in the kitchen and the gym than they do shooting gear and popping pills.

How many times have we heard people claim their diet is "dialed in" or their nutrition is "on point" yet, have no idea what their TDEE is and if they are eating above or beyond their TDEE so that they will actually gain lean muscle or drop bf.

If it was as simple as some needles and pills then everyone cycling would be as big as the next Mr. Olympia.

    There are no quick solutions.
